An early morning visit to Tsukiji Market is a tradition on my first day in Tokyo. My first few visits found me at Sushi Dai or its less busy neighbor Sushi Daiwa. This time I opted to check out Sushi Zanmai. So glad I did. Every bite was delicious, there was plenty of elbow room at the counter at 5:00am and it had a true local vibe. If you are a smoker you will be geeked to hear that I spotted puffers while there.
