For locals and tourists alike Fuente Alemana is the go-to for a sandwich lunch. There are a few kinds to choose from and ways to customize. I went with the Lomito Italiano which came with palta, tomato, mayonnaise and juicy pieces of stewed pork. It was bound by fresh bread and backed by Kunstmann, a Chilean beer brewed in Valdivia. Grab a seat at the bar if you can to watch the magic happen — seating is first-come, first-served.
