I will always consider San Francisco home even though I have lived in New York City for over a decade now. I return at least once a year to enjoy some of my favorite things about the city and to discover new things (especially given the city’s recent warp speed evolution). Waste no time. San Francisco is bursting at the seams with excellent street art so hit up the back alleys of the Mission District to come up on the freshest pieces.

Corona Heights Park
San Francisco is loaded with many great views. This one is great for its proximity to city center and just how much you will see from this hilltop perch.

The best breakfast in town. I try to go every time I am in San Francisco. Don’t miss another great breakfast in the Western Addition at Eddie’s.

It's beer o' clock somewhere or pretty much anytime in San Francisco. These diurnal spots will keep you buzzed and stoked.

The Phone Booth
Cozy little neighborhood joint with a great juke. Used to be one of my favorite haunts when I lived in the Mission.

500 Club
An awesome dive with a horseshoe shaped bar. Spent many a afternoon in one of their booths catching up with friends.

The Saloon
One of the oldest bars in San Francisco (est. 1861). Listen to live blues and rub elbows with the North Beach locals.

Zeitgeist
It has everything: a beer garden, blood marys, juke loaded with heavy metal and cheeseburgers.

Gangway
The oldest gay bar in San Francisco. This nautically themed dive opens early, closes late. It was the perfect place for me and my partner to shoot whiskey before heading to City Hall to get hitched. Cheers!
