The New York Botanical Garden is a National Historic Landmark containing 250 acres of green spaces including a greenhouse conservatory, rock gardens and waterlily and lotus pools. This oasis in the midst of one of the world's biggest cities also just celebrated its 125th anniversary. My visit brought some calm and a great escape from the buzz and bustle of the metropolis.
