Redwoods of Muir Woods National Monument
San Francisco, California

Thanks to William and Elizabeth Thatcher Kent we have this untouched patch of redwood forest in Mill Valley. Most other forests of the kind had been razed and the couple saw the immense value in protecting these spaces. Walking through these towering trees it can feel more like a cathedral than a forest. The air among the trees is like none other.
