It’s a bit of a hike to get to the series of cemeteries at the top of Cerro Panteon but it is worth it. You can see most of the surrounding city and harbor from there. You can also see where Chile’s shaky ground has taken it’s toll in Cementerio No. 1. One of the larger earthquakes shook part of it down the hill below. Many of the baroque mausoleums have cracked, angels have lost wings and some markers lie prostrate but it was still a beauty to behold on that sunny day.
